Keith Scott owned a bonsai nursery in Chagrin Falls in the 1960's and 70's before becoming the curator of the bonsai collection at Phipps Conservatory. The Columbus Bonsai Society Club logo tree came from his nursery. Dawes Arboretum has a Scotts pine that also came from his nursery at the same time. Keith has an smooth bark elm tree in the National Arboretum (pictured). Keith was a frequent teacher to our club and many others including Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Akron-Canton.

The 30th Anniversary of The Dawes Arboretum’s Ohio Regional Bonsai Show is a delightful event sure to engage all bonsai artists and enthusiasts. Demonstrations go on throughout the weekend and over 100 bonsai specimens will be on display in the Visitors Center and Bonsai Courtyard. Vendors of bonsai tools, containers, Japanese art, jewelry and plants will all be on hand.
We will be discussing Maples and Pine techniques, and the presenters have requested that people bring either a Maple or Pine, or both to consider and possibly work on. See you there.
