Green Spider mites

Hey guys I have an outdoor hybiscus that I brought in for the winter and with the dry conditions in the house I've found some spider mites. Luckily the tree is in a seperate area of the house from my indoor bonsai's. But what are some good effective solutions for getting rid of or controling these pests? I've used the Garden Safe fungicide 3 product but they appear to keep trying to come back.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks for the update. Yes they were spider mites with webs and all. A few applications of the 3 in one listed above did the trick, just as you'd described above. The plant was a little stressed but was hardy to begin with and tolerated the treatment just fine.

Are you sure they are spider mites?
Do you see tiny "spider webs"?
Do you see spotted leaves?
Do you see the tiny green/grey/brown mites under the leaves?

Spider mites are very difficult to completely eradicate.
They are resistant to most common pesticides.

I have used Orthenex to get rid of them, but the spray cannot kill the eggs.
Whatever you use, make sure it says it kills spider mites. If it doesn't specifically say "Two-Spotted Spider Mites" on the can, it will not work.
You have to spray the mites once, then wait a few days for the eggs to hatch, them spray them again. Repeat this 3-4 times. Each application is stressful for the tree though.

A day after each application, I also sprayed the tree very vigorously with water to remove the dead carcasses and hopefully some eggs.
Hold the plant upside down or at an angle so the mites and eggs are sprayed away from the plant, and not back into the soil.

Another bad thing about these bugs is that they multiply very quickly.
In the summer, I check my trees daily for bugs. I left for a weekend and when I returned, I had a medium sized Cotoneaster completely infested.
